    JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

    This job contributes to Starbucks success by supporting the successful implementation of the Starbucks enterprise-wide Business Resilience program. Provides expertise in the creation, testing, and maintenance of crisis management plans, execution and facilitation of drills and exercises and the development and maintenance of program metrics and governance documents. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

    SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

    • Assists with conducting risk analysis and rolling out prevention and mitigation efforts. Aids in evaluating risk and mitigation opportunities in various areas of continuity, including completing business impact analyses.
    • Collaborates on building and sustaining business recovery plans. Works on the creation and ongoing maintenance of plans which address short and long term operational workarounds, physical displacement, and recovery resource needs. Maintains reports to communicate plan information to business unit and management audiences.
    • Communicates with partners regarding Starbucks Business Continuity initiatives. Provides essential subject matter knowledge to internal and external partners. Fosters relationships and develops networking opportunities to gather and disburse Business Continuity information as applicable.
    • Communicates with partners regarding Starbucks Business Continuity initiatives. Provides essential subject matter knowledge to internal and external partners. Fosters relationships and develops networking opportunities to gather and disburse Business Continuity information as applicable. 
    • Participates in enterprise-wide emergency response programs. Contributes to the administration of corporate emergency response prevention, partner safety, physical displacement, and incident management projects.

    SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE

    • Coordination, management and implementation of database programs (1 year)
    • Cross-functional project experience (1 Year)
    • Experience with Recovery Tests and Tabletops (1 year)
    • External and internal training and communication (1 year)
    • Participating in high impact projects and programs (1 year)
    • Working with cross-functional groups throughout the organization (1 year)
    • Professional certification in the Business Continuity Field (Preferred) (Certified Business Continuity Planning Specialist CBCP)
    • Undergraduate degree preferred

    REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to build successful cross-functional relationships
    • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Ability to make presentations
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong interest in emergency response and operations, business recovery and emergency management issues
    • Skills in Business Continuity planning software (i.e. Fusion)
    • Skills in emergency communications software (i.e. Everbridge)
