    As a COMPOUNDING PHARMACY TECHNICIAN, you'll be responsible for answering incoming calls and completing outbound calls to / from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximized productivity.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate and accurate information
    • Processing prescriptions
    • Resolving customer issues, ensuring accurate information is provided
    • Working in a clean room
    • Pulling and staging the medications for compounding
    • Using USP797 sterile guidelines
    • Stocking medications
    • Labeling and organizing medications
    • Lifting up to 30 lbs. continuously
    • Standing on feet for an 8-hour shift with breaks and lunch
    • Processing, packing and shipping outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and patient collateral (education materials) are included
    • Interpreting provider prescription and creating orders; access, input and retrieve prescription and medical / lab information from computer system, verify whether order / drug is reimbursable / covered
    • Compound IV medications using appropriate components, supplies and sterile / ventilated environment
    • Perform drug / supply ordering and inventory / warehouse duties, including proper storage of drugs and supplies and appropriate refrigeration of perishable product, monitor and adjust/calibrate pharmacy equipment, fill dispensing units
    • Contact members / patients to validate data, resolve rejected claims, request payment information, establish priority of order or delivery details, consult on medication issues, and set up treatment in on-site facilities

    This role is equally challenging and rewarding. You'll need to work within multiple computer systems simultaneously as you respond to questions or provide specific medication details / clinical information. It's a fast - paced, high - volume environment where our members are counting on us to deliver these important, sometimes life - saving medications in an accurate and efficient manner.

  • Qualifications

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
    • State of Florida Pharmacy Technician License
    • Proficiency with a computer and Windows PC applications, including ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system application

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pharmacy / prescription data entry experience
    • National Pharmacy Technician Certification
    • 1+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician
    • 1+ years of sterile IV compounding experience gained in a Hospital or Home Infusion environment
