Quality Assurance Nurse
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Analyze appropriate service utilization, and staff education with the goal of maximizing quality and cost efficiency of health care services
Monitors and evaluates clinical documentation, including OASIS, Plan of Care, and other documentations (Start of Care, Resumption of Care, Follow-up, Transfer and or Discharge) for accuracy and consistency in compliance with established criteria
Maintains current knowledge and understanding of accreditation of DC & federal regulations governing home health agencies
Collaborates and acts as a resource for quality and regulatory issues with the DON, Intake specialist, Care Coordinators and field clinical team
Develops plans of actions targeted for Quality Assurance Performance Improvement, Emergency Disaster Preparedness Programs, Infection Prevention and Control Program and other improvement plans
Responds to the Plan of Corrections
Responsible for the Key Performance Indicators established by the administrator
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Tracheostomy care, intravenous therapy, and other specialized skills.
Demonstrated expertise with strategic planning, leading teams and project management
Ability to interpret data and related information, and discern trends and tendencies, as well as determine appropriate course of action
Ability to work as part of team
REQUIREMENTS:
Registered Nurse license, BSN preferred
3 years of quality assurance in the home health field
Versed with OASIS review, coding and transmission
Working knowledge of CMS and other DHCF regulations
Knowledge of clinical and professional standards of practice in Home Health
Proficient Excel and reporting skills
Proficient computer technical skills (utilizing various software)
