Intern II - Government Relations

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (3-4 days/week onsite in office). When reporting to the office, the location will be on Torre Chardon Building , Chardon Ave. 350 Suite 500 San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Schedule: This position will work during a first shift Monday thru Friday for the duration of the summer internship program (8weeks).

The Government Affair is for participants of an approved Company internship program for undergraduate college students. Specific work assignments will vary by department.

How You Will Make an Impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Management and follow-up on the legislative process and the bills that impact our industry

• Assist the Government Relations Manager and Senior Director during the process of the end of the legislative session (last of the Term) in June 2024.

• Learning of lobbying efforts

• Research for the drafting of legislative bills and reports.

• Research to writing memorials and papers to present at the Health Commissions in the House of Representatives and the Senate of Puerto Rico.

• Attend to public hearings at state legislature with our MMM Government Relations executives.

• Research on new federal public policy determinations on Medicare and Medicaid programs.

• Research and Develop interest on how to deal with communities with key efforts and advocacy plans.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be part of an approved academic course of study, and that course of study must be applicable to the company's operations or the support of those operations.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:

• Enrolled in the four-year bachelor’s degree in one of the following field of studies: Political Science, Public Administration, Public Politics, Law Student or enrolled in a Master Degree in Planning, Public Finance or Public Management.Bilingual (English & Spanish) Preferred.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
