    As a Barclays Lead Java Developer, you will have full accountability of the FX settlements new build and migration onto modern container and cloud based platforms. In this role, you will plan and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with the global middle and back-office operations team as well as the business to produce detailed delivery plan. This is a tech leadership role with line management responsibility for a team of 15 developers, analysts, and testing engineers.

    What will you be doing?

    • Working with developers, SCRUM masters, QA, Project Managers and Business Partners to create detailed delivery plan using agile and sprint framework
    • Collaborating with Run the bank partners to guide through production issues and proactively help with system stability and performance
    • Mentoring junior developers and distil best practices in relation to development and architecture
    • Driving and defining development standards in collaboration with other delivery managers
    • Being responsible for managing SCRUM technically while being a point of reference for technical guidance
    • Collaborating with Business Analysts, Transformations Partners, and end users to provide clarity around complex concepts
    • Articulating the product architectural vision, benefit, and create design documentation
    • Creating technical design documents that adhere to predefined standards and bring in best industry practices

    What we’re looking for:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience
    • Significant experience as a delivery lead using agile methodology
    • Extensive firsthand experience using Java J2EE / EIP Framework
    • Proven experience using Micro-service development

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Working knowledge and undersatnding of Capital markets domain - back-office cash settlements
    • Experience with caching tools like Redis, Gridgain, etc
    • Prior knowledge of Middleware technologies (JMS, Solace, Kafka, etc.)
    • Background writing SQLs using RDBMS like SQL server T-SQL or Oracle PL/SQL
