Bowling Green State University is a public research university established in 1910 at Bowling Green, Ohio. It’s the alma mater of Anthony Doerr, who won a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and Eva Marie Saint, an Academy Award winning actress. It has a beautiful and well-maintained campus with over 14,000 undergraduates. The university is invested in its students’ academic success; BGSU ranks 11th in the country with respect to strong commitment to teaching undergraduate students and has a good student-teacher ratio. The Greek system is strong but more than anything, this school makes school spirit its business! With eighteen Division I athletic teams and amazing wins by its football, basketball and hockey teams, the school has a lot to cheer for. It has a Secret Spirit Organisation, also called the SIC, consisting of six secret members who keep up the school spirit during sports events! Every Friday is Falcon Friday, when its student body is dressed in school colors, and its mascots Freddie and Frieda Falcon keep up the school’s energy. BGSU is in a small town, with enough bars and pizza joints outside campus to have a great time. For those who long for city air, Toledo is a twenty minute ride away and Cleveland isn’t too far either. Bowling Green State University, with its school pride and commitment to success, is considered a solid and affordable opportunity for growth.
