California State University at Sacramento is a public university, established in 1947 as Sacramento State College. It has over 26,000 undergraduates and is located in Sacramento, the capital city of California. The campus, true to its location in the City of Trees, is shady and beautiful, welcoming the company of friendly squirrels. It has over 300 student organizations, including around 20 Greek organizations, and campus events such as concerts and comedy acts. The arboretum or University Union building is a great place to read while the Union and Riverfront Center is where the food is at. The Well, Sac State’s state of the art gym for rock climbing, yoga, and other facilities is already included in the students’ tuition and the university’s Aquatic Center gives them a lot to do. The university also has twenty Division I sports teams and a spirit group to keep up the game energy! Its proximity to Lake Tahoe and San Francisco begs for fun weekends and/ road trips. Actor Tom Hanks and former Good Morning America co-host Joan Lunden went to school here. Sacramento State’s beautiful campus and wonderful student resources come at an affordable cost.
