Calvin Theological Seminary, founded in 1876 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, prepares its enrollment of about 300 students for serving the Christian Reformed Church; its mission statement centers upon a deep connection to the Holy Spirit. It offers master’s and doctoral degrees in divinity, pastoral care, theological education, and many more concentrations. Calvin is also proud of its caring, close-knit community, starting each academic year with a seminary-wide picnic dinner and supporting leagues in table hockey and several intramural sports. The Spoelhof Fieldhouse Complex includes 60 cardio machines, an Olympic-sized pool and a climbing wall! Or if they prefer, students can explore the breadth of God’s creations via the Calvin Observatory and the Bruce M. Dice Mineralogical Museum. CTS even helps its alumni to fulfill their divine missions well after graduation; resources for growth of church congregations and leadership skills are constantly available through an on-campus institute of Global Church Planting and Renewal. All told, Calvin Seminary provides a well-rounded educational experience, while paving the way to a spiritually stronger society.
