Established in 1889, Chamberlain College of Nursing is a private nursing school located in Arlington, Virginia. The name ‘Chamberlain’, meaning ‘chief steward’ in Middle English, was used in a bid to emphasize the nurse’s role as the central steward and coordinator of patient care. The college offers certificate, associate (soon to be discontinued), bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in nursing. They also have an online campus, which is where the doctoral program is offered. Students learn through active learning methods like game-based nursing simulations, as well as mandatory clinical hours. They have access to resources aplenty - career services, tutoring, online library resources, and ASPIRE, a counselling support program, are a few examples. Student activities include various associations, joint community activities, and the Global Health Education Program, an international service project, through which students travel to different countries to better understand cultural and economic differences. The college is located in Virginia, which is home to several governmental agencies, monuments, and preserved nature, such as the Pentagon, the Iwo Jima Memorial, and the Theodore Roosevelt Island. Party lovers will have a great time during Halloween, given that the city was named one of the best cities for Halloween parties.
