Coastal Bend College in Beeville, Texas and its extension campuses in Alice, Kingsville and Pleasanton serve around 4,000 students in total, with an emphasis in preparing them for further education at a four-year institution. CBC offers 27 concentrations, including pre-med, elementary education, and computer science, as well as occupational and vocational training. It dual-credit program allows high school seniors to enroll in and receive both high school and college credit for the same course. Each campus has its own comprehensive library and bookstore, as coordinated together by the Grady C. Hogue Learning Resource Center; students, however, can access many of the same resources as they can in person via Blackboard, CBC’s primary tool for online education. And, don’t say that the CBC Cougars don’t know how to have fun! The spirited athletics program here includes competitive softball, baseball, volleyball, soccer and men’s and women’s basketball. For small class sizes and special attention you can’t get at huge universities, Coastal Bend College is the place to go.
