Coffeyville Community College is a community college established in Coffeyville, Kansas, in 1923. The college’s first graduating class consisted of just 14 students – 13 girls, and a single boy. It has since grown to offer associate, technical, and certificate courses in a variety of fields, such as Home Health Aide, Auto Collision Repair Technology, and Phlebotomy. Athletics at Coffeyville is given special importance, as evidenced by the number of professional sports players who gave graduated from here – football players Mike Rozier, Brandon Jacobs, and Devin Thomas, to name a few. Student activities other than the sports and sports related ones, include various organisations & clubs, bands and choral musical ensembles, and a student run film society. Given that it is primarily a commuter campus, students are often involved in community gatherings and events, such as bonfires. Big cities such as Tulsa and Wichita are common weekend getaways.
