Crowley’s Ridge Technical Institute is a technical institute established in 1965, in Forrest City, Arkansas. The school was started with the aim to train individuals to have the skills that would improve their prospects. In 1967, Crowley’s held its first ever class with 30 students, in welding, which was conducted even before the building was completed. The college offers certificate courses in a variety of areas such as cosmetology, practical nursing, and automotive service technology. Course durations are either one or two years, and can be taken part time as well. Despite the small student population, community events and student activities are aplenty at Crowley’s. Since 1988, the first Crowley’s Ridge Vo-Tech Bar-B-Que was held to raise a book fund for underprivileged students of the school. Since then, the barbeque has become an annual community event and beloved tradition. Students also participate in the city’s Christmas Parade, by contributing their skills to design and build a float. Crowley’s is clearly a place where a communal harmony and educational advancement thrives!
