Doane College is a private college established in 1872, with branches in Lincoln, Grand Island and Master, in Nebraska. The first liberal arts school in Nebraska, the school offers pre-professional, undergraduate, and graduate programs such as criminal justice, public administration, and counselling, in addition to others. Although it has a small student body of little more than 1000, Doane is known for its scholarship, with its 61 Fulbright scholars a testament to its academic prowess. Student activities at the college include various sporting events, different clubs and organisations, notably the Hansen Leadership Programs, which aims to create leadership opportunities for students and give them the exposure they require to bloom. Notable alumni of the college include Douglas L Wilson, two time Lincoln Prize winner, as well as Robert Taylor, the actor.
