Eastern Oklahoma State College is a public community college located in Wilburton, Oklahoma. When it was first established in 1908, the school was named Oklahoma College of Mines and Metallurgy, with a primary focus on mining engineering. The school’s programs have now expanded to offer associate and certificate programs in a wide variety of fields such as nursing, business, and behavioural & social sciences. Student activities at EOSC includes several clubs, organisations, and intramural sports. Students are also provided with counselling, career services, transfer guidance, and distance learning options. Wilburton provides several entertainment options, one of which is the Robbers Cave State Park, which served as a hideout for outlaws Belle Starrs and Jesse James. It was also the site of psychologist Sherif’s Robber’s Cave Study on realist conflict theory.
