Georgia Northwestern Technical College is a public technical college established in Rome, Georgia, in 1962. The college has four other campuses, in the counties of Walker, Gordon, Polk, and Whitfield-Murray. The college offers associate, certificate, and diploma degrees in several different fields. The programs of study include traditional courses such as Accounting, and Firefighting, as well as more specialised, career-focused courses such as echocardiography, CSI, and Neuromuscular Therapy. The class schedules are flexible, a huge plus for non-traditional, and students can opt to attend classes either on campus or online. Students at GNTC are groomed to enter the work field armed with skills that will give them an edge. They are provided with practical skills to improve their professional prospects, in addition to leadership skills. Tag football, canoeing, and ziplining are common activities for GNTC students.
