Established in 1966, Indian Hills Community College is a public community college located in Ottumwa, Iowa. It has a branch campus situated in Centerville, Iowa. The college was formed as a merger between Iowa Tech-Area XV Community College, Centerville Community College, and Ottumwa Heights College. Interestingly, the very first classes of the college were held at the Ottumwa Regional Airport. The college offers associate, diploma, and certificate degrees in a range of fields like Surgical Technology, Commercial Driver Training, and Digital Forensics. A part of the campus continues to operate at the airport, mainly aviation programs, commercial driver training, welding technology center and auto collision repair programs. A medium sized student body of 4000, the college also offers an online campus for non-traditional students. Common student activities include joining program-specific clubs & organisations, watching free movies, and periodic cultural nights.
