Longwood University, founded in 1839, is a public liberal arts university at Farmville, Virginia. It has over 4,500 undergraduates, with over 125 student organizations to partake in. Its students can participate in its annual Spring Weekend and Oktoberfest, rush for Greek life or cheer on the Lancers as they compete in Division I sports. The surrounding town has plenty of festivals, tours and restaurants that are cultured and historic. Longwood is home to two secret societies, and the university as a whole celebrates patron hero Joan of Arc. Notable alumni include singer-songwriters Jason Mraz and Pat McGee!
