Easily visible from Interstate 20, the picturesque campus of Louisiana Delta Community College in Monroe was newly constructed in 2010 and serves as the main campus for the LDCC system. But don’t let its youth fool you; LDCC’s comprehensive resources and facilities include a nursing lab and multiple science labs, as well as a commons area, theatre, and cafeteria. It offers A.A.S. degrees and transfer degrees (in which all credits later transfer to a four-year institution) in important fields like forensic science, process technology and the care and development of young children. Its dual-enrollment program even allows high school seniors to get college credits early, speeding up the educational process. But if you’ve already moved well past your college years, there are programs for LDCC for you, too. Delta offers many online courses through Ed2Go and Gatlin, designed to address the needs of busy adult learners. And when not studying, students often de-stress by taking in the surrounding city, which contains such attractive venues as the Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo and the Biedenharn Museum. With something for everyone and a focus on success, it’s no wonder Louisiana Delta has a saying all its own: “It’s more than just a place.”
