Despite its name, Manhattan College is actually found in The Bronx within New York City, but that shouldn’t be the only thing about it that’s a tad surprising. For example, this Roman Catholic liberal arts college consistently rates in the top twenty of all northeastern educational institutions when it comes to students getting a solid return on their financial investment. Manhattan College serves about 3,200 undergraduates and 500 graduate students, and offers over 60 traditional programs of study in all, in addition to pre-professional dental, law, medical, physical therapy and veterinary programs. Its Center for Academic Success contains three sub-centers and a learning hub, where students can get individual peer tutoring and supplemental instruction, or attend academic strategy workshops. And MC teaches students to give back to the community: the Lasallian Outreach Volunteer Experience (L.O.V.E.) sends students on immersive mini-trips to get in touch with the poor, to experience unfamiliar culture, and to perform hands-on service work. A passionate place that yields compassionate graduates, Manhattan College is the ideal blend of values, academia and personal connectivity.
