The Memphis College of Art, in Memphis, Tennessee’s Overton Park, offers undergraduate- and graduate-level arts degrees in many creative fields, including digital media, photography, studio art, and art education. 400 students converge here from three foreign countries and more than twenty states to take advantage of MCA’s rigorous academics and small class sizes (which average about 15 students.) But while those may be small, MCA is big on creating amazing experiences; regularly scheduled museum-seminar trips have touched down in such exotic cities as Paris, Rome, Moscow and Mexico City, and there’s even the Horn Island exhibition in Mississippi, where students come to create art while surrounded by only wildlife and the pristine sand of the Gulf of Mexico. A fully residential college, MCA also provides career counseling and maintains networking connections with over eighty regional employers. When not studying, students enjoy canoeing excursions, take weekend trips to the local café, or even meditate while navigating a corn maze! Few schools of its kind can match the pioneering spirit and creative energy behind the Memphis College of Art.
