The Metropolitan State University of Denver is proud to break the mold when it comes to a lot of academic characteristics: for just two, more than a third of its students are non-white (as of Fall 2014) and Affordable Colleges Online lists it as one of the most affordable large colleges in the country. It also boasts the second-largest teacher-preparation program in Colorado and a wide variety of academic resources, such as the $60 million Aerospace Engineering Sciences Building and an award-winning Hotel and Hospitality Learning Center. All this, and it also ensures that students get excellent individual attention by maintaining an average class size of just 20. Its 22,000 students choose from among almost 60 majors spread across four colleges and schools (of business, professional studies, arts and sciences, and education). Outside the classroom, seven Greek chapters keep student life lively, and dozens of organizations include clubs devoted to water conservation, vertical fitness, chess, ROTARACT and lots more topics. Clearly, MSU-Denver has a lot to offer just about anyone interested in a stellar collegiate experience!
