Mid Florida Tech, a public vocational school located in south Orlando, Florida, is part of the Orange County Public School’s Career and Technical Education Department. The school was established in 1963 with the aim of training students in skilled labor, and getting them ready to succeed in a competitive world. The Central Florida Fire Academy is based at the school, and offers courses in firefighting and emergency services. A mid-sized school with a largely diverse population, Mid Florida Tech employs non-traditional teaching methods, enrolling students in apprenticeship programs and providing them with employment while studying. With the Walt Disney World Resort located just a half hour’s distance from campus, students will find no dearth of entertainment options.
