Established in 1911, Middle Tennessee State University is a public university located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. It consists of eight undergraduate colleges and a college of graduate studies; renowned for its recording industry, aerospace, music and concrete industry management programs. It has a hude student population, coming up to over 22,000. The campus offers different media outlets that its students can participate in; including Sidelines, MTSU’s student newspaper. The university also hosts approximately 340 organizations, including sororities and fraternities. The MTSU Blue Raiders are cheered on during their golf, football and basketball games. The university is home to notable alumni such as politician Al Gore, Sr. and Nobel Prize-winning economist James McGill Buchanan.
