Norfolk State University is a public liberal arts historically black university in Norfolk, Virginia. Established in 1935, it has over 5,300 undergraduates. It’s the alma mater of actor J.B Smoore and professional basketball player Kyle O’ Quinn. It has an optimum student/teacher ratio, affordable tuition and scholarships for those in need. The university has over 150 clubs, including clubs involving one’s major. It is also great at athletics; it is part of the NCAA Division I conference. It is home to the Spartan Legion Marching Band, an amazing vehicle for Spartan pride! The surrounding area is distinctively urban and near the downtown region. For those who join Norfolk State University, it has plenty of student activities, making it difficult to not behold the green and gold.
