Northland Pioneer College is a public community college established in 1974, and located in Novajo County, Arizona. The school has branches at four location in the county – Holbrook, Show Low, Snowflake, and Winslow, and centers at five other locations. NPC offers an astoundingly large number of courses – 8000 during fall and spring semesters, and approx. 2000 during summer. Majors include nursing, photography, firefighting, and skilled trade. The college caters to a wide range of students across the county, forming a large and diverse student community of about 8000 strong. High school students as young as 14 are eligible to take classes at the college. Student services include academic support, counselling, special need services, and speciality programs such as professional development and accelerated programs. Student activities mainly comprise of clubs & organisations, dance and music, and the in-house literary magazine. Students at NPC can often be found hiking, and playing board games and basketball. Novajo County’s rich history, and its part in the Pleasant Valley War will definitely be a point of interest with students.
