Northwestern University, founded in 1851, is a private research university with campuses in Evanston and Chicago, Illinois. It enrolls over 8,400 undergraduates and has a campus rich in tradition, academics and service. A fountain donated to the school by the class of 1902 now serves as The Rock; a canvas to paint information about university-wide events. The Sunday before finals week, at 9 p.m, is when the whole campus screams their lungs out! Its student-run Dance Marathon guarantees a good time, and simultaneously raises a lot for local charities. There’s no one more passionate than a Northwestern Wildcat, with the Wildcat paw and key-jingling making appearances at select game-moments. Another great way to cool off is to picnic at the shores of Lake Michigan. Notable Northwestern alumni include singer & producer Pharrell Williams and comedian Stephen Colbert. Northwestern, with its picturesque campus and high-ranked graduate schools, is a good place to get a great education.
