Platt College in San Diego, California is a four-year institution specializing in digital media education. Its 400 undergraduates pursue certifications, associate’s degrees and bachelor’s degrees in fields that excite the senses and add punch to any entertainment-related project, like video production, 3-D animation, video game design and website design. 16,700 square feet of campus space include a number of computer labs and a library, and class sizes are restricted to a maximum of 30 students, to ensure individual attention. In addition, Platt acknowledges that media are constantly changing, and so teaches its students not only the most recent sets of skills and techniques, but also problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, to help them adapt to evolving job markets. And this is true not only in the U.S., but all over the world, as participants in Platt’s Annual Study Abroad Trip can attest to. In just the past ten years, they’ve encountered exotic culture and history in Italy, Spain, Japan, Greece, and China! Other extracurricular events have even included a Legend of Zelda art exhibition and trips to Comic-Con International. So, like so many before and after, let your creativity shine bright, with Platt College!
