Seattle University, established in 1891, is a private Jesuit Catholic university located in Seattle, Washington. It has an urban campus that enrolls over 4,600 undergraduate students. It is home to artwork by several greats and the renowned Chapel of St. Ignatius that exudes multicolored light. It offers a number of programs that incorporate service and social justice-based learning into its academic curriculum. The Chieftans are crazy talented, their basketball team being one of the few to defeat the Harlem Globetrotters in the fifties. Notable alumni include Duff McKagan, founding member of Guns ‘N Roses and Elgin Baylor, retired basketball coach, player & executive. The university, in the midst of a wonderfully drizzly city with a great music scene and even better coffee, facilitates an amazing student environment.
