Texas State University, located in San Marcos, Texas, boasts an enrollment of over 38,000 students, and has 10 colleges and about 50 schools and departments, including nationally-recognized programs in geography, criminal justice, and music. The alma mater of President Lyndon B. Johnson, TSU also holds the distinction of being home to the first precision dance team to be formed at any four-year institution (The Texas State Strutters.) Exciting TSU projects happening right now include development of a touchscreen table (to be called the Samsung SUR-40) and smart watch for use aboard the International Space Station, as well as anthropological excavations within the nearby Lower Pecos Canyonlands. The Bobcats, however, are about far more than just research and classwork: evenings can be spent attending a show at the new (2014) Performing Arts Center building, attending a match or game within any of 14 men’s and women’s NCAA sports, or just relaxing by the crystal-clear San Marcos River. Diverse, exciting, and challenging, TSU continues to be collegiate choice of prime high school graduates year after year.
