The Metropolitan University (Universidad Metropolitana in Spanish) is a private university established in 1970, in Caracas, Venezuela. With branches in Puerto La Cruz, Lecherías, Valencia, Maracaibo, and Mérida, the school offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and certificate degrees in a wide variety of fields, from Computer Programming to Hydroponic Farming Technician. Student life at UMET is vibrant and active, there’s always something to do. Apart from activities promoting arts & culture, and the numerous student associations, sports is something that brings out the crowds at UMET, with their intramural and extramural events. The university is strict about its ‘no alcohol’ policy, even for those of legal age. Student services include career assistance for students and graduates, nonremedial tutoring, as well as a day care center for children of students and employees at the university.
