University of Dayton, founded in 1850, is a private Roman Catholic research university, located in Dayton, Ohio. It houses over 8,500 undergraduate students and over 200 student organizations. The campus is compact, with the iconic Immaculate Conception Chapel as its central point. Its students can get involved with the campus radio and television station, attend spiritual retreats or weekly People of Respect, Compassion and Hope (PORCH) meetings. The Dayton Flyers compete in Division I sports; its basketball home games are especially an exciting ruckus! Notable Dayton alumni include humorist Erma Bombeck and Control-Alt-Delete command inventor David Bradley. Students at UD, with its small class sizes, dedication to its students’ academic success and friendly Midwest atmosphere, work hard and play harder.
