University of Kansas is a public research university established in 1865. Its main campus is in Lawrence, Kansas and it has over 19,000 undergraduates. Its campus, on the historic Mount Oread, looks like it is straight out of a story book. Students are surrounded by beautiful flowering trees and can commute using the bus system. The university is competitive academically, with nationally ranked programs and top tier research. It has a solid Greek life and brag-worthy athletics! KU’s basketball program is historically one of the oldest and most important programs. Both its football and basketball team have taken the school to greater heights, fostering amazing school spirit. Late Night in the Phog and Waving the Wheat are some amazing pre-game and game traditions! Stars such as Wilt Chamberlain and actor Paul Rudd went to school here.
