Consistently named one of the best colleges in the Southeast by the Princeton Review, the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida spans a tremendous 1,300 acres of natural preserve, and serves over 16,000 students (known as the Ospreys.) It awards undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in a variety of fields, including international studies, music performance (with seven distinct emphases), mathematics, theatre and anthropology. Media are popular here; local TV and radio stations accompany the well-known publication The Spinnaker in expressing the collective student voice. Furthermore, the Thomas G. Carpenter Library houses over 840,000 volumes and 300 public workstations, and laptops are available for checkout there. Other resources include Jacksonville’s Museum of Contemporary Art, six on-campus residential facilities and the comprehensive UNF Student Union. The men’s basketball team even earned its first-ever invitation to the NCAA Division I championship tournament in 2015! Clearly, there’s lots to be excited about at the University of North Florida.
