University of Wisconsin Madison is a public research university established in 1848, with approximately 30,000 undergraduates. It’s located in Madison, the best college sports town in the nation! Notable Alumni include Charles Lindberg and Joan Cusack. UW Madison is brilliant at academics, and is research-centric; you can get excellent research experience even as an undergraduate, if you ask for it. It promises a traditional college experience, especially with football game days and parades that are guaranteed to get you pumped up! It also does not get any better than ordering in late night Pokey sticks or Ian’s cheese & macaroni pizza. It’s perfect for biking and the university has a good bus system. It’s incredibly diverse; chances are you’ll bump into more than two kinds of people in your four year stint here. The Terrace is a great place to relax after a tiring day, and the city, with its lakefront demands further exploration. Despite its lakes, trails and scenery, the university has city life up its sleeve as well. It’s bubbling with events and festival-related hype.
