Established in 1972, Vermont Law School is a private law school located in South Royalton, Vermont. The school offers JDs, LLMs, joint and dual degrees in a number of different law specialities. Since its inception in 1978, the school’s Environmental Law Center has the largest graduate environmental law program in the country, and is ranked among the top environmental law programs by the US News & World Report. The dual degree programs are in conjunction with other top ranked institutions in the US and abroad, like University of Cambridge, the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. The school places a strong focus on advocacy and commitment to service, which is reflected in its programs, activities, and internships in relation to environmental issues, international human rights, or local community legal services. At Vermont Law School, there is a deep sense of community, despite the inherent competitiveness that is part and parcel of a law school, and students are sure to find this familial, friendly atmosphere endearing.
