Western Oklahoma State College is a public community college established in 1926, and located in Atlus, Oklahoma. Initially known as Atlus Junior College, the school offers certificate and associate degrees in a range of fields such as agriculture, radiation therapy, and political science. The 1500 students on campus have a significantly diverse population, with several Latino athletes being recruited for the school’s baseball program. WOSC’s baseball program is highly successful, and they went on to win the NJCAA Division II World Series national championship in 2011. Situated in a rural setting, students feel WOSC cultivates a homely atmosphere that makes students more comfortable.
