Having started its life as a two-year school in 1941, Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas has also granted bachelor’s degrees in over twenty-five disciplines since 1984. Grounded in Christian tradition, WBC offers programs in vocation-specific fields like biblical linguistics, family psychology, and social studies education, but also pre-professional programs in dentistry, law, nursing, pharmacy, and more. Almost 600 students here, most of which live in on-campus housing, enjoy the beautifully wooded 200-acre campus and a student-to-faculty ratio of just 13 to 1. Regional high school seniors with high grade-point averages are encouraged to dual-enroll in up to two courses per semester at a tuition rate of just $150 per class, to get a jumpstart on a degree program. And it’s easy to become involved here, whether by joining theatre troupe “The Cast,” the Williams Singers music ensemble, or any of a number of academic and Greek societies, like Phi Beta Lambda and the Williams Educators Organization. With small class sizes and a tight-knit community that enriches so many lives, Williams Baptist College sets the standard when it comes to liberal arts education.
