Xavier University is a private Jesuit Catholic university in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was founded in 1831, making it one of the oldest Jesuit institutions of higher education in the US. The college offers associate, certificate, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in areas such as nursing, sociology, theology, and business, among many others. Xavier values and encourages innovators, having a center for innovation, and being ranked among the “Best 50 Schools for Entrepreneurs” by Success Magazine. While academic excellence is given importance, students also enjoy extra-curricular activities such as sports, with Xavier Musketeers making it big in basketball. In fact, it is one of only two non-BCS schools included in Forbes’ list of the top 20 most valuable programs in college basketball. Other student activities include campus ministries, clubs & organisations, and student media outlets. Given that the campus is located just few miles from downtown, those at Xavier will have opportunities aplenty to explore the city.
