Why Get a Brand Ambassador/Campus Rep Role?

Earlier this year, two seniors at the University of Southern California made over 6-figures, from the comfort of their own campus…. and they definitely didn’t do it by selling bags of candy in the HUB. These two hustled their way to the top by making the most of a unique role that’s out there for college students: Brand Ambassador Roles (here at WayUp, we call our Brand Ambassadors “Campus Reps” and we’re building a small army!)

(You can read more about these young studs here.)

Want to beef up your wallet and your resume? Here are WayUp’s top reasons for why taking on a Brand Ambassador/Campus Rep position might just be the best choice you ever made.

  1. Figure out your skills: In a nutshell, being a Brand Ambassador is great because it lets you explore different industries and disciplines. Most of these roles require you to use your networking skills by reaching different groups on campus, learn marketing skills by figuring out what demographics and groups to target most effectively, and figure out whether “entrepreneurial” is your middle name, by seeing how well you can sell a product/service to the public. Through a Brand Ambassador position, you will quickly figure out what areas you excel in, and which areas you want to learn more about.
  1. Gain real world experience outside your campus: Some college campuses offer great on-campus jobs, but they can also be hard to come by. Brand Ambassador roles (and other part-time jobs and internships) are a great resource for students who are looking to gain experience working for “real-world” companies that expand beyond their college town. Working as a Brand Ambassador for an established company like Coca-Cola or Uber while you are still in school gives you insight into their marketing teams, and can foster connections for full-time jobs or summer internships later down the line.
  1. Test your own capabilities and work-ethic: The USC students are the perfect example of entrepreneurial motivation at it’s best. With most Brand Ambassador Roles, the more you put in, the more you get out. Since these roles are mutually beneficial both for the students and the companies, high success is always win-win!

PS. I hear WayUp has a huge selection of Brand Ambassador and Campus Rep roles…and that some of them are even one-click apply. Just sayin’…
