Chris: At Magnum we believe that a day without pleasure is a day lost. If you’re not your true or authentic self then it’s hard to experience pleasure in every day.
Michael: So, You get to come to work every day knowing that, Someone is smiling while eating ice-cream, the product that you market out to consumers. How does it feel every day?
Chris: I mean it feels pretty incredible. I remember as a kid you know one of the best parts of growing up in rural Florida was having the ice cream truck come down the street and getting really really excited. So obviously coming to work every day, working on ice cream it’s kind of a childhood dream in a way.
Michael: So you started as an MBA intern and came out full time started with Degree and then you’ve had the mobility to move to another brand. What was it like to be at a company where you’ve actually been able to touch multiple products that get in the consumer’s hands.
Chris: Yeah I mean I think for me one of the reasons I came to Unilever and one of the reasons I chose consumer packaged goods as a route after business school was because I really wanted to focus my professional life on a tangible product at the end of the day. Knowing that I have a part in creating something that is tested and then produced and then ends up in a consumer’s hands is a really great experience and really cool. Seeing our products on shelves is very rewarding at the end of the day.
