This Summer Job Comes with a Side of Fries, Rides and Water Slides

If you work at any one of Cedar Fair’s many amusement parks, you will spend your summer working amongst roller coasters, water slides and cotton candy stands. It will be your responsibility to make sure thousands upon thousands of guests each day have a “Best Day Ever” experience. You will even get to spend time with some celebrities of the costumed character kind including Snoopy and Charlie Brown!  And as an added perk when you’re not working you can enjoy the park for free with your friends and co-workers experiencing all the world-class rides and coasters or sampling some of the finest amusement park food around. Your job there can take one of several forms, including:

The Wizard of Rides

No unbuckled seat belts or guests below the height limit will ever get past your watchful eye. From riders conquering their fear of heights to the bravest of little guests boarding their very first ride, you’ll be that friendly, helpful face everyone sees right before their ride takes off. You’ll take pride in your coaster, carousel or river rapids ride and treat them as your home away from home for the summer, keeping them sparkly clean for every guest.

The Personal Shopper

From t-shirts to hats or snow globes to stuffed animals, choosing the perfect park souvenir isn’t an easy decision. That’s why you’ll be there to help guests find everything they need to remember their day. You’ll also channel your interior design skills into product displays, keep your store organized and make sure there isn’t an empty shelf in sight (don’t forget you’ll get a discount on all these awesome gifts as well).

The (Friendly) Gatekeeper

From your perch at a toll booth, turnstile or ticket station, you’ll ensure every guests makes it into the park safely and smoothly. You’ll also know the park grounds like the back of your hand. You’ll become an amusement park encyclopedia, providing the best directions and park information so no one’s left feeling lost or confused.

The Pool Protector

The waterpark will be your domain. You’re already certified in swim time safety and a stickler for pool rules. Once you’re on the clock, the make sure every guest is slipping and sliding safely down all those water slides!

The Master of Mealtime

When a guest can’t decide between a burger and fries or a hotdog and a milkshake, you’ll come to the rescue with recommendations. You’ll work fast enough to keep lines short and you’ll take pride in your ability to keep a kitchen clean no matter how hectic things get.

The Referee

You already know just what to do when giant stuffed animal prizes are on the line. You’ll be the emcee of skill games, explaining the rules, making change and rewarding winners. You’ll also make sure the most popular prizes are always in stock to avoid any sad winners, and you’ll go out of your way to make sure games of skill are carried out with the highest level of safety.

Any challenge that involves rides, games and French fries is a worthy challenge in our book. If you agree, head over to WayUp now and apply to work at one of Cedar Fair’s many amusement park locations. They’re hiring for roles at parks around the country, including Dorney Park
, Carowinds, and Michigan’s Adventure Amusement Park.
