7 Questions with Coralia Nunez, Supply Chain Sustainability Project Manager at Dell

There’s more than one way to build a tech career at Dell. Coralia Nunez’s story is proof of how fulfilling it can be—no matter what department you join.

Carolia joined Dell’s MBA internship program in 2015 and joined full-time in 2016. She agreed to give us an inside look at how she got there, what she does in her role, and why you should consider Dell for a career in tech.

Why Dell?
I wanted to work for a company that I could feel proud of and that provided me with the right tools and resources to maximize my potential and impact. Dell’s approach to sustainability, innovation, and using technology to drive human progress was aligned with my own goals and values.

What does it mean to be a Supply Chain Sustainability Project Manager?
I manage the communications and stakeholder engagement strategy for the supply chain sustainability team. This includes how we interact wi th suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders to create a supply chain that’s always raising the bar in the electronics industry.

What are the most innovative projects you’ve worked on?
Customers want to know more about how the products they buy are manufactured. One way we’re innovating is by figuring out what transparency looks like for the electronics industry. I led a project for the release of Dell’s first progress report on all of the social and environmental responsibility initiatives in our supply chain.

I also worked on a customer tour project, where we invite customers to tour our supplier manufacturing facilities, interact with workers, and experience the working conditions.

What was the impact?
Both of these projects helped build trust with our customers and strengthen the relationships between our supply chain team members across the globe who all had different roles in the projects.

What’s the best part of your job?
I get to interact with highly talented team members across the company with diverse perspectives, expertise, and viewpoints. Our team is focused on driving sustainable and responsible practices, which goes hand-in-hand with continuous improvement and innovation.

How has Dell helped you grow professionally since you joined?
Dell has many resources for professional development, and each employee has individual development and learning plans. I’ve taken several development courses on topics like design thinking and strategies for problem solving.

I’ve also been able to interact with leaders of other departments to develop a broader understanding of Dell’s strategy and operations. [As a result] I started as a procurement intern, and now I’m part of the supply chain sustainability team.
