It’s the day of the interview and you’re scrambling to find the perfect outfit; not too casual, not too dressy; a pile of skirts, blouses, and pants covering your bed and time running out.
Heels, or no heels? That is the question.
Fear not…. The perfect interview outfit is out there. All you need to keep in mind are a few simple rules:
I can’t stress this enough. Even if the workplace is casual, you want to demonstrate that this interview is important, not merely just another errand, and quite frankly, jeans do not scream professional. Believe it or not, it is possible to be comfortable, stylish, and still look professional.
These are appropriate if you aren’t a fan of heels (like myself), and although they can be expensive, it’s a good idea to invest in a nice, comfortable pair that will last a while. I would recommend looking at Nordstrom as they carry quite a few business-type flats and the associates are willing to help you find exactly what you are searching for.
A professional looking purse that is a neutral color (black, beige, etc.) is a good option; something that doesn’t draw the attention away from you, the interviewee.
My purse necessities include:
And lastly, don’t stress it! Interviews can be nerve-wracking, but keep calm, remember to breathe, and with these style tips you will be sure to impress.
Best of luck! And be sure to tell me about your favorite interview outfits in the comments below!
