Merchandise and Production Coordinator

What is your name? Molly H.

What is your profession? Merchandise and Production Coordinator.

What company do you work for? White + Warren.

How long have you been in this role? 1 year.

What did you study in college? Communications.

Why did you choose this job? I wanted to transition into the fashion industry. Most importantly I wanted to work for a brand I like and respect.

What is an average day like in your role? Jam-packed.

What’s the most challenging part of your job? Managing my workload efficiently in a fast pace environment.

What’s your favorite part of the job? Learning the ins and outs of producing a line. From pre-production design and planning, to margins and shipping logistics, a lot goes in to this process and I think that’s so exciting.

What’s a common misconception about your job? That women who work in fashion can be stuck-up or scary. It’s not all like The Devil Wears Prada, guys!

Any tips for current college students who aspire to have your job? Apply to smaller brands to gain the most experience at first.

If you had a time machine and could travel back to visit yourself in college, what’s the #1 piece of advice you would have given yourself? Take school more seriously, and join as many groups as possible! I think I tended to stick too closely to one group, which is easy to fall into.

What is a fun perk of your job? Free cashmere!
