1. The Squirrels Had Better Watch Out

“I would have to say that the craziest experience [with a dog] I have had as a dog sitter was Layla. Such a sweetie pie she is, but such a terror with squirrels! We were at Capitol Park in Downtown Sacramento, and she was having her treat, when these squirrels started inching up to her, one and then three, then a couple more, all looking at her treat. First she stared at them with her head tilted to the right, almost out of sheer confusion, and then a tilt to the left, and then the right, and then bam! She bolts at them and starts running in circles since she was on a leash tied to the bench we were sitting at. There were so many circles, and bouts of talking, and confused head tilts…it was hilarious!” – Sandra; Sacramento, California

“I watch a huge dog named Taro who looks like a wolf. I’ve had people stop their cars and pull over to comment on him before, but one day I was walking Taro and my pitbull down the street when a lady stops and says, “I saw you and thought to myself, My goodness this girl is just walking a pitbull and a wolf down the street!” It was really funny and I explained that he’s not actually a wolf!” – Samantha; Birmingham, Alabama

4. Hide and Go Seek

“One of the craziest, silliest experiences I’ve had was with a beagle named Quinn. Quinn was super smart, even mischievous at times, but she loved company and being around people. Every day that I watched her, we would play hide and seek in the evening. After dinner, I would hide somewhere in the apartment until she sought me out, which never took long for her. Then I’d distract her long enough for me to hide somewhere else, and the hunt was on again. After a few rounds, it would end in us sitting on the balcony together, each on our own loveseat across from each other until the sun went down.” – Melissa; Mountain View, California
