The People Behind Dove and Ben & Jerry’s Are Hiring Summer Interns Right Now

If you want to have your summer internship locked down early in the school year and also want to ensure that it’s an incredible experience, you’re in luck: Unilever, the company behind iconic brands like Dove, Ben & Jerry’s, and, now Dollar Shave Club, is hiring summer interns right now.

Why are interns so excited to work at Unilever headquarters? We’ll give them a chance to have the floor and tell you themselves why their internships are WayUp-approved.

1. Unilever Gives Interns Real Work

You’ve probably heard horror stories of interns spending the summer grabbing coffee and taking their boss’ laundry to get dry cleaned (yikes!). Unilever, however, understands the impressive capabilities of its interns and gives them serious work. In fact, each intern gets his or her own personal project to complete by the end of the summer that’ll have a real impact on the business.

“I study sustainable development at school, and my project focuses on the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan and allows me to understand how sustainability can actually be used in the real business world,” says Auriane, a Customer Development Intern. “That’s what I find most important.”

2. Unilever Invests in Its Interns’ Careers and Happiness

Unilever understands the importance of investing in its interns’ career trajectories and enthusiasm. In addition to offering a rotational training program after college called the Unilever Future Leaders Program, the company also gives its interns plenty to do during their summer internship, from volunteerism to food events.

“Unilever really focuses on community service, and as an intern, we had the opportunity to go do community service events with our team,” explains Jaritza, a Volume Collections Intern, who loved getting to hang out with her colleagues in a different setting.

The company also keeps interns’ on-site happiness in mind by providing a number of perks in its headquarters, including a gym, salon, and free ice cream (yes, free!).

3. Unilever Cares About Its Interns’ Perspectives

Above all, Unilever understands that its interns have valuable insights to give, and those are always taken seriously. “People here often are asking you for your own opinion and really expect you to come with your own point of view,” says Gordon, a Marketing Intern.

Working for a company that cares about hearing your thoughts is a valuable experience in it of itself, so if you want the opportunity to impact an organization, Unilever could be right for you.

Applications are due ASAP! Check out Unilever’s job listings for internship positions in supply chain, food science, customer development, marketing, and more.
