To dive into the topic, we talked to Casey Weickgenannt, a Corporate Recruiter at Apex, one of the country\u2019s premier recruiting firms. She sat down with WayUp to nail down what it means to be a Staffing Recruiter.<\/p>\n

What do Staffing Recruiters do? <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Staffing Recruiters work at staffing agencies. They match qualified candidates with the right position that aligns with their background. They work across multiple verticals and are great problem solvers. The ideal Staffing Recruiter is able to assess a situation and make a decisive decision.<\/p>\n

What are the challenges?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

As a Staffing Recruiter, you need to be able to build relationships with candidates in order to best understand where they\u2019ll make the biggest impact.<\/p>\n

This can be incredibly rewarding\u2014you\u2019re helping people start or further their careers\u2014but it\u2019s not just the candidates you\u2019re trying to assist. At the end of the day, you need to make sure your firm\u2019s clients\u2014the businesses who have hired you to fill positions\u2014are getting the types and quality of candidates they\u2019re looking for.<\/p>\n

According to Weickgenannt, that means on any given day you can be \u201cat meetings keeping each other accountable, generating leads, cold calling, following up with candidates, checking references, and seeing who\u2019s the best match.\u201d<\/p>\n

What are the rewards?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Apart from the satisfaction of helping people advance their careers and better their lives, Staffing Recruiters enjoy many other perks. Chief among them, Weickgenannt says, is competitive compensation. \u201cIt\u2019s a very lucrative career,\u201d she stresses.<\/p>\n

Additionally, being part of a team that comprises charismatic salespeople has its social rewards. \u201cIt\u2019s a work hard, play hard environment,\u201d Weickgenannt adds.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also the satisfaction that comes from a job well-done. Recruiters often get to extend employment offers themselves. That means you\u2019re going to have a lot of people who are very grateful and excited to be speaking with you.<\/p>\n
