  • Responsibilities

    CohnReznick’s Summer Internship Program is a great way to get a sneak peek into our Firm and public accounting industry. We are looking for talented students, rising seniors or seniors going into a Master’s program/or 5th year to become eligible to sit for the CPA exam, to join our team from June through August 2019. Your date of graduation with 150 required credits must be Spring 2020. This is a paid internship and requires you to be available to work at least 30 hours per week.

    As a Summer Intern with CohnReznick, you will work on real audit or tax engagements from start to finish. And don’t worry, we’ll teach you everything you need to know.

    We currently offer internships in both our Assurance/Audit and Tax practices.

    Assurance/Audit Interns:

    • Work on all aspects of an audit including cash, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, performing searches for unrecorded liabilities, maintaining confirmation logs and preparing audit work papers;
    • Assist with Audits, Reviews, Compilations and Accounting services;
    • Resolve audit issues by obtaining evidence and making inquiries of clients; and
    • Assist team with daily client workflow.

    Tax Interns:

    • Work on a variety of client deliverables including preparation of tax returns, including Individuals, Partnerships and Corporate tax returns;
    • Identify potential tax issues and prepare tax adjusting entries and tax trial balances based on audited or client provided trial balances; and
    • Assist team with daily client workflow.

  • Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
    • Working toward CPA eligibility while pursuing 150 credits
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 in both your major and overall
    • Successful completion of two accounting courses prior to the start of your internship
    • Leadership positions in extracurricular activities, as well as work and internship experience are considered a plus
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
    • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
    • General computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
