Data Analyst Engineering Charleston, South Carolina Description Benefitfocus is seeking the ideal candidate for a Database Engineer with primary responsibilities related to the development of SQL data load procedures to extract, transform and load customer healthcare data. The candidate will have a business background with proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft SQL Server. This position will report to the Benefit Analytics Senior Manager of Engineering. Job Responsibilities * Analyze inbound customer data to determine the optimal methods for incorporation into the Benefitfocus data warehouse * Create, test, implement, and maintain SQL Server Stored Procedures for integration of customer data * Optimize database objects for performance and accuracy with indexes and SQL best practices * Validate the integrity and completeness of data using current Benefitfocus standards * Communicate data issues and potential resolutions to non-technical stakeholders and management * Track and document all development using agile development tools and Salesforce * Collaborate with cross-functional team on process improvement and standardization Work Environment * Typical work hours are 8:00 to 5:00 * Certain evening or weekend hours may be necessary based on customer or project requirements Experience, Education and Skills * 1-3 years business experience in ETL Development preferred. * Familiarity with health benefits, healthcare provider billing, medical coding or similar industry related to healthcare data management is a plus * Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills * SQL-Server and/or Hadoop data integration development * Familiarity with large-volume data import processing * Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel and Word * Bachelor Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or Business related field Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to their age, race, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, protected veteran status or disability.
