    The Corporate M&A Tax Associate is responsible for utilizing their educational background as well as communication and organizational skills to assist with client needs associated with mergers and acquisitions. The Associate in this role will utilize basic skills to assist with technical tax work, including Section 382 analyses, consolidated return subsidiary share basis and earnings and profits analyses, Section 1202 analyses, tax structuring services, and transaction cost studies. The Associate will gain exposure to these analyses and work with Seniors, Managers, Senior Managers, Managing Directors, and Partners to gain exposure to client optimization strategies.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics, required

    • Juris Doctor (JD or Master of Laws (LLM) with a focus on tax preferred

    • Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax, preferred

    Experience:

    • Leadership experience, preferred

    • Accounting based internship, preferred

    License/Certifications:

    • Eligible to sit for the CPA exams; progress towards admission to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction; progress towards Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or progress towards the equivalent of one of these designations) upon starting employment, preferred

    Software:

    • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, preferred

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to follow instructions as directed

    • Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills as well as decision-making skills

    • Able to work well in a team environment
